The Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery was established in 1409 AH (1989 AD). Several boards have consecutively managed and worked diligently to steer the association and achieve its goals. The past presidents of the board include Dr. Sami bin Muhammad Al-Suqair, Dr. Omar bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, and Dr. Ali bin Atta Allah Al-Raddadi. The current president of the board is Dr. Sami bin Nasser Al-Suwaidan. Over the years, the association has focused on raising the level of dermatology and dermatologic surgery specialization and providing everything that contributes to achieving this goal. The association has taken it upon itself to organize international conferences, attract distinguished figures in dermatology and its various branches, and activate specialized seminars and workshops. It has also held local scientific conferences and seminars and worked to enhance the role of trainees in training programs across the Kingdom. The association has also contributed to supporting research and researchers and has supported the scientific journal affiliated with the association, which has now reached a distinguished position. Efforts are still ongoing to elevate it among the leading scientific journals in the field. The association has supported training centers and plans to provide more support in the future, God willing. Additionally, it has contributed to serving the community and its members and will continue to facilitate communication between the association and different community sectors. The association also maintains international cooperation with renowned global centers in dermatology and dermatologic surgery, which will, God willing, support joint research efforts and the transfer of technology and expertise.
